No garage is complete without a full complement of Maxima aerosol products, each of which has been thoughtfully designed with a very specific purpose. Knocking out corrosion? Grab a can of our Multi-Purpose Penetrant Lube. Guarding your engine against dirt? Go to town with our Fab-1 Spray-On Air Filter Oil. Need to restore and protect your plastics? Reach for Maxima’s famous SC1 high-gloss coating, which has been appropriately referred to as “New Bike in a Can™” due to its almost-magical ability to recondition your machine. Across the board, Maxima is proud to offer the top aerosol products in every category—and trust us, your bike will thank you.

We've run through some themed bikes recently in Monster Energy Supercross, including a Retro Race in Atlanta and a Military Appreciation Race in San Diego (Check Word On... for some photos from Atlanta 2 and San Diego ).

This kind of got us to thinking about some previous one-off themed bikes and gear. Well, actually, we didn't think of it, but a high-ranking member of a motorcycle brand who loves reading The List every week suggested we do this. Or maybe he just loves seeing yellow and black bikes? We love not having to use our own brains each week and just cueing up the photo archives to make this happen.

Here are some gems we found:

Las Vegas usually sees some special looks, so let's get warmed up there. Here's Chad Reed tuning up his Honda with an all-black frame and swingarm.

Yes! From the original retro night back in 2008. Kevin Windham ran the old-school Johnny O'Mara style boot gatorz in practice to match his retro gear. But the AMA wouldn't let K-Dub race with the gatorz.

Okay, not really themed bikes but just actual retro bikes. Kawi brought championship hardware from Jeff Emig, Ricky Carmichael, and James Stewart for new fans to see.

Yamaha celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2005 with old-school yellow bikes at Unadilla. David Vuillemin was our cover boy for that one.

But even better, they built this amazing/awesome/incredible retro bike for Justin Barcia to actually race!

Honda also brought out an actual old-school bike for last year's retro race—Johnny O'Mara's legendary CR125 from the 1986 Motocross des Nations. This is not a retro-themed bike but actually just a retro bike—are you going to argue with us showing you a photo anyway?

Last year the Toyota/JGR boys got into the retro thing with these yellow and black bikes. O'Neal even made matching gear for Justin Brayton.

Remember what we said at the top about Las Vegas? We couldn't find a photo of Kevin Windham's crazy purple Honda from 2004, sponsored by the Hard Rock Casino. But we found a video of it in action.

Now this is killer! Honda celebrated an anniversary with this silver Elsinore look for Ivan Tedesco. Dirt bikes haven't changed a bit....

And we're not sure if this is retro or what, but we know Ryan Zimmer's bike looks a lot different than everything else.
