When Red Bull announced a media challenge at their Straight Rhythm event, we set out to build a winning bike and find a winning rider. Josh Grant was looking for a ride and it just so happened that we had one.
Our friends at Twisted Development squeezed as much power out of the motor as possible while WP provided Josh with some Cone Valve forks and a Traxx shock for the race. X Trig supplied the clamps and Pro Taper sent bars, grips, chain, sprocket and a throttle tube for the project. The wheels were built by Dubya and included Talon hubs and DID Dirt Star rims, a combo that could hold up to whoops and big jumps without issue. Pro Circuit provided the exhaust pipe and silencer while Works Connection sent caps and a start device so Josh’s starts were on-point. The graphics were built by Dirt Digits and the seat cover is a Moto Seat product. Metal Tek modified the stock pegs to make them wider, Hinson provided a complete clutch system and VP sent their potent MRX01 to add the final touch to a lethal race machine.
While some of the other riders took advantage of the 300cc displacement limit, we kept it 250cc, and 100 percent, and crushed the competition in the media challenge. Josh ended up fourth overall in the bracket rounds but first in the Red Bull Media Challenge. Our Husky was a fire-breather and the sound of it going down the track gave you goosebumps.
