  • Commenting on Racer X

We love bench racing as much as anyone—we basically do it for a living—but the Racer X Online comment section often morphs from a chat about the races to straight-up arguing and trolling. Can’t we all just get along? Don’t we all have something very important in common (the love of this sport)?

So we’re going to try to clean up the mess. From here on out, we’re requiring commenters to log in via Facebook or Twitter. A lot of sites have made this move because it introduces an extra layer of accountability. Hardcore trolls and flame wars seem to originate from anonymous posters, and those who know their words are linked to their social media account are usually more civil. We want fans to get along with other fans, not fight them.

Facebook has 1.32 billion users, and Twitter has 232 million, so we’re not asking for anything obscure or complex. We are asking for you folks to keep talking moto, 24/7, but don’t forget that this sport is fun. Let’s keep the comment section the same.

For users who login using Facebook or Twitter nothing will change.

For users who login with a username and password, or using a service like Google, Yahoo, AOL, MySpace, or OpenID, you will have to associate your Facebook or Twitter account with your Racer X account to continue commenting.

If you used to sign in using the one of the old methods mentioned above, you will want to choose Sign In Now. From there, you will enter your email and password associated with your account. After entering both, you will need to link to your Facebook and/or Twitter account on the next page. After linking, you will be able to comment on Racer X. (See screenshots below for step-by-step instructions.)

Step 1

Once you've linked your Facebook or Twitter account you can comment on Racer X. Don’t have a Facebook or Twitter account? Sign up! This is the only way to comment on Racer X Online.

If you are experiencing problems with the new log in, please email online@racerxonline.com.
