MXHeaven Announces 2012 Team Members
MXHeaven Racing Team announces four European riders for the 2012 AMA Nationals. It includes three Swedes and a Russian National Champion.
Following last years successful debut of the MXHeaven Motocross racing team, the Honda mounted 2012 team aim for top placings in the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Nationals.
Fredrik Noren returns again from last year where he earned several top 15 finishes.
“With what I learned last year and the preparations and training here at MXHeaven, my goals are set high for this year,” said Fredrik. “ Last year I had the speed to run in the top ten, but I need to improve on my starts and my consistency. I am also very excited about using Ohlins suspension, I felt last year, that was an area where we could improve as a team.”
Robert Lind and Rickard Sandberg are new to the team for this year. Both of them spent much of last year in MX-1 in Europe, nursing injuries that eventually proved to be season ending. Now fully recovered, they are eager to show off their speed on US soil. “It is easy to let all the excitement of riding the AMA Nationals get us carried away, so we have to remember to start conservatively, focusing at first on learning the tracks that are all new to us, then on qualifying and then the race in that order” said Robert Lind.
“The preparation here at MXHeaven has been second to none and I am super excited to start the season at Hangtown on May 19” said Rickard Sandberg. “The weather, the practice tracks and the team camaraderie have set the stage for what promises to be an incredible season and a life experience. I have used Ohlins suspension in the GPs in Europe to great advantage and the Ohlins USA team has done a super job in helping us with adjustments and settings.”
Last but not least, MXHeaven announces that 2008 Russian MX1 Champion Serge Astaykin has joined the team. Serge has carried out most of his testing and preparation riding in the Moscow area, but has now joined the team in Perris, CA and will carry out the last part of his preparation and testing there. Serge entered a small number of Nationals here in the US last year, where he did very well and got a good feel for the level of competition. “I feel I have a good chance at being competitive here and I like the organization of the events. I met with the MXHeaven team last year and was impressed, so when the opportunity to join them presented itself, I was eager to join” said Serge.
