Ken Block and Tommy Lee Swap Seats
Park City, Utah: Monster World Rally Team driver Ken Block recently went for the ride of a lifetime when he and Mötley Crüe drummer, Tommy Lee, decided to “swap seats” with each other. Block invited Lee out to go for a few laps of a course in his 600 horsepower Gymkhana World Tour Ford Fiesta, to which Lee countered with the opportunity for Block to go for a ride in Lee’s over-the-top, 360-degree drum roller coaster during a live Mötley Crüe show in Las Vegas. Fortunately, Monster Energy was there with the cameras rolling to capture all of the action as their two superstars did what they do best. “I met Tommy during the Sundance film festival this year,” said Block. “We really hit it off and we were talking about how we each admire what the other has accomplished. That’s when Tommy started telling me about how his drum coaster has a passenger seat on it and we both realized that we could offer a ride to each other. So, we looked at our calendars, made some calls, made it happen and made sure we got video! I know my Gymkhana Fiesta is wild, but to be riding Tommy’s drum kit during an actual Mötley Crüe concert? Absolutely incredible. It’s definitely one of the coolest things I’ve gotten to do as a driver.”
