Watch: Explaining Why Race Day at zMAX Dragway Was Called After First Motos
Unfortunately, the first SMX Playoff round of 2025 was called after the first motos due to severe weather near zMAX Dragway. Jason Weigandt and Mitch Kendra jump on what might be the worst post-race show ever to explain why race day was called early (hint, it was not the rain, but instead continuous lightning in the area).
A thunderstorm came through the area, first starting out as a gigantic gust of wind mid-450SMX moto, then turning into heavy rainfall with lightning strikes near the venue. That put the race in a severe weather delay for about two hours before the call was officially made that the second motos would be cancelled, so the first moto results would stand as the overall results.
