The 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Final will take place this weekend at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Check out the report below for a look at who’s getting back to racing, and who will miss the action due to injury.

450 Class

Justin Cooper - Collarbone | TBD IN

Cooper had a crash in the first moto in Texas and sustained a small fracture in his collarbone. In a post-race press release Cooper stated, "We’ll see how this week goes, but will do everything we can to line up next weekend."

[Update: Cooper is in for the finale]

250 Class

Daxton Bennick – General Health | Out

Bennick is sitting out SMX to overcome some health issues he’s been dealing with.

Casey Cochran – Arm, Knee | Out

Cochran is out after getting banged up in a violent crash during qualifying in Charlotte.

RJ Hampshire – Banged Up | Out

Hampshire had a big crash in the second moto in Texas and ended up with a DNF. He later posted on Instagram that he was “Lucky to be healthy.” On Thursday afternoon, Husqvarna confirmed Hampshire will be out for the SMX finale.

"RJ Hampshire will be sitting out the Las Vegas SuperMotocross Finale after suffering a crash in Moto 2 at Round 2 of the SMX Playoffs in Texas. RJ is already gearing up for an intense off-season of training and setting his sights on the 2025 season."

Dilan Schwartz – Wrist | Out

Schwartz is out due to wrist problems that have required multiple surgeries.

Jalek Swoll – Head, Banged Up | TBD Out

Swoll crashed hard on the start in Charlotte and hasn’t raced since. At time of posting we were unable to obtain his official status for the weekend, although the team told us a Press Release would be coming either late today (Thursday) or early Friday.

Update: Triumph announced on Friday morning that Swoll is out for the finale. The team said:

"The Floridian, who crashed at the first SMX round in Charlotte, North Carolina, will now focus on returning to full fitness in preparation for the 2025 season."

Nate Thrasher – Leg | TBD Out

Thrasher has had a rough go in SMX after returning from a broken collarbone. He crashed in qualifying at the first round and sustained a painful hematoma on his leg, which forced him to sit out, and he had a big crash at round two that relegated him to the sidelines early in the first moto. Thrasher posted Thursday evening that he is out for the finale.
