  • Nate Thrasher Out for SMX Finale: “I Ended Up Getting Sick and Will Not Be Able to Race”
Las Vegas, NV SuperMotocross World Championship FinalSuperMotocross World Championship

It has been a tough return to racing for Nate Thrasher. After a collarbone injury forced him to the sidelines after two rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider made his return to racing at the first round of the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) playoffs. In the first round, Thrasher had a qualifying crash that ended up leaving him with a hematoma on his leg and forced him out of the first moto early. He did not start the second moto. Then at the second round in Texas, he crashed hard in the first moto on the over/under bridge, which ended his day early. He finished 21st and 23rd overall, respectively.

On Thursday evening, the Tennessee native provided an update and announced he will miss the SMX final. Stated he is looking forward to being fully healthy for the 2025 season, but first noted he has his wedding next month with his long-time girlfriend Andrea. Below is his full post.

“Last weekend in Texas, I had a pretty big crash that took me out for the day. I was hoping I’d be able to heal up this week for the final SMX round but I ended up getting sick and will not be able to race. Im taking this sickness as a sign to let my body rest. Im excited to start preparing for next season on a healthy note but first, I gotta change @andreanicolell’s last name ❤️ thank you to everyone who supports me- I’m fully confident we can turn this thing around in 2025!”
