Privateer Fredrik Noren will miss the remainder of 2018 due to a torn ligament in his hand, which is causing his bones to rotate. In the announcement made on his Instagram, Noren said he’ll also need to undergo surgery to repair ligaments in his knee.
Noren said he expects the recovery time to be about six months. “This is going to be super hard for me,” he said. “This is what I’ve known for the last six seasons.”
During the off-season, Noren sustained a broken collarbone which sidelined him for the opening two rounds of Monster Energy Supercross. He returned for Anaheim 2, but has not raced since due to his wrist injury.
The privateer from Sweden has raced in the U.S. since 2011 and has had multiple fill-in roles in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross with factory Honda. As a privateer in 2017, he finished 12th overall in the 450 Class outdoors.
