Bogle, J. Smith Out for Millville, Charboneau In

More bad news from the GEICO Honda camp, which lost Jordon Smith last weekend to a shoulder injury just a few days before Southwick. Smith will remain out to rest the shoulder, and now the team's 450 rider, Justin Bogle, is out for the weekend due to injuries incurred in the second moto at Southwick.
Bogle had a great day going after holeshotting moto 1 and leading five laps. He holeshot again in moto 2, but Christophe Pourcel knocked him down while taking over the lead. Bogle got up and put in a strong charge, but then had a huge crash which ultimately knocked him out of the moto. After the race he went to the hospital to be checked out and was expected to be okay, but when he tried to get back to riding and training this week, he realized he wasn't right to race this weekend. The team is listing him as "banged up."
Bogle released the following on Instagram today:
I wanted to let everyone know that I will not be racing Millville this weekend. Unfortunately the crash I had during the second moto at Southwick that sent me to the hospital is taking longer to recover from than expected. After resting this week and giving my body some time to recover, I was hoping that today I would be able to test myself a bit to see where I was at in hopes of racing Millville. However, it was quickly very clear that I’m just not in a position to race this weekend at the level needed. There is no reason for me to go ride at 75% and risk further injury, or to not give my sponsors and fans the performance that they deserve. After having my best result of the MX season in the first moto last week I was looking forward to one of my favorite tracks of the year for another good result and some more holeshots! Thanks to my sponsors and fans for the support. I hope to be back next week at Washougal but will take this recovery day by day.
Both Bogle and Smith will be reevaluated for Washougal next weekend.
On the good side, rookie pro Tristan Charboneau is finally healed up and will return to racing after breaking his collarbone at Glen Helen. The GEICO Honda lineup for the weekend is Charboneau, RJ Hampshire and Jimmy Decotis.
