James Stewart Will Return to Racing This Weekend

James Stewart will return to racing for Yoshimura Suzuki this weekend at the Spring Creek National, following the birth of his first child a few days ago. Stewart originally went out of action following a shoulder injury suffered at the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross opener at Hangtown, but after attempting to ride the next weekend at Glen Helen, he realized the shoulder wasn't ready. Stewart missed the last few races awaiting baby news, which has also given the shoulder enough time to heal.
We had heard the baby news (posted below, from James' Instagram account) but were waiting to see if that meant Stewart would return to racing this weekend. An Instagram post (below) from DC Shoes, a Stewart sponsor, confirms the #7 will be back in action this weekend.
Little Tabiahs missed being born on 7/7 by just two days. But dad did say being born on a Saturday might mean something!
We expect to see an official Yoshimura Suzuki PR shortly, and it will also contain some bad news, as both Blake Baggett and Matt Bisceglia are out with injuries suffered at Southwick.
Baggett bailed off big-time when he launched too far over a jump in practice, and Bisceglia crashed while leading the LCQ to get into the motos. Baggett has re-injured the shoulder he hurt at Hangtown and is likely out for the rest of the nationals; Bisceglia injured ribs, but we don't yet have a timetable on a possible return.
