ABU DHABI (United Arab Emirates) - The 2015 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour will come to a dramatic conclusion when Tom Pagès (FRA) and Clinton Moore (AUS) let loose with their arsenals of best tricks, flips, and jumps the world has ever seen in a winner-take-all fight to the finish in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Moore was the dominant force through the first half of the season with wins in Mexico City and Athens. But Pagès, the 2013 World Tour winner, has been unbeatable in the last two stops in Madrid and Pretoria.
Concluding its fifteenth season, the final showdown of the 2015 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour will be making its eagerly awaited debut in Abu Dhabi. It will be held on October 30 at Abu Dhabi's spectacular waterfront Corniche. The world's best freestyle motocross riders had previously been held three times in the UAE, in Dubai but will now be staged in the capital city.
Both Pagès and Moore, who each have 280 championship points, have shown flashes of brilliance this season in the sport where riders perform dazzling tricks on and off their bikes while jumping up to thirty meters in distance and fifteen meters high. With two wins each, they also both have a second place and a third place. It is the first time that there has been a dead heat going into the final.
Pagès has been a driving force for innovation with tricks such as the special flip, the bike flip and the newly added alley-oop flair. Moore has also been an irresistible force this season with his trademark Bundy and he added the first dirt-to-dirt volt ever in competition at the last stop in Pretoria, South Africa.
Sherwood, who is third overall in the tour this year with 185 points, will not be competing in Abu Dhabi due to an injury he suffered just before Pretoria. There will be an interesting battle for third place overall with France's David Rinaldo (145 points), 2014 World Tour winner Josh Sheehan of Australia (145 points) and his compatriot Rob Adelberg (135 points) all still in the hunt.
