Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing

Zions Bank Utah National, Miller Motorsports Park - Tooele, Utah - August 23

  • Hosted by Tooele's state-of-the-art Miller Motorsports Park, the second annual Zions Bank Utah National will be the season finale for the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
  • Last year's inaugural event was the first professional outdoor motocross event to be held in the state of Utah since 1973.
  • Since opening in 2006, Miller Motorsports Park has enjoyed a reputation as one of North America's premier road racing facilities while continually expanding to include additional amenities for other various forms of motorsports including off-road racing and outdoor motocross.
  • The Zions Bank Utah National will take place on a 1.2-mile, state-of-the-art motocross track constructed in the northeast corner of Miller Motorsports Park's East Road Course.
  • The course includes a unique uphill start, two huge triple step-up jumps that launch the riders high into the air, some tricky off-camber turns and other very large jumps.
  • The track has been revised to make the south end of the circuit more of a loop to provide better race flow, more passing opportunities and shorter lap times. The track will also no longer cross the asphalt road-racing track, the start/finish line has been moved to the straightaway section on the north side of the course and a number of the jump landings have been modified to improve the track flow.
  • The track surface has been improved with the addition of more sand, rich dirt and mulch to provide an improved and consistent racing surface.
  • For spectators, there will be better trackside access and viewing opportunities as a result of the work done to the south end of the circuit and the relocation of the start/finish line. In addition, sales points for concessions and beverages have been more than doubled.
  • With nearly mile-high elevation, the thin air in Utah's Tooele Valley will present an additional challenge to racers and teams, similar to what they experienced in Lakewood, Colo. earlier this season.
  • Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Jeremy Martin clinched the 250 Class title one round early in Indiana, but the 450 Class Championship will be decided in Utah between KTM teammates Ken Roczen and Ryan Dungey.
  • Through eleven rounds, Jeremy Martin leads 35 percent of the total laps in the 250 Class. Ken Roczen leads 39 percent of the total laps in the 450 Class thus far.

450 Class Stats

  • The first race held at Utah's Miller Motorsports Park was August 17, 2013. Ryan Villopoto won on a Kawasaki.
  • This will be the second time the gate will drop for a 450 Class race at Miller Motorsports Park.
  • With the inaugural win, Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto wrapped up the 2013 450 Class Championship one round early in Utah.
  • This year, GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac (2013 250 Class winner) will attempt to become the first rider to win the Utah National in both classes.
