Corona, CA - Newly crowned MX1 Canadian National Champion Colton Facciotti will be heading to Tooele, Utah, this weekend to race the final round of the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Facciotti will be filling in for TLD's 450 rider Malcolm Stewart, as he has opted out of racing the final round, still recovering from the residual effects of severe dehydration.
Fresh off his incredible season of consistent top-3 finishes with the TLD Canada / Gopher Dunes / Honda Canada team, Facciotti and team owner Derek Schuster have decided that they're ready for some new scenery and racing landscape. Today, they will head to Utah by way of Michigan and meet up with the TLD / Lucas Oil / MAVTV / Honda race team to get the #124 Honda CRF450R dialed in.
Facciotti is very familiar with Troy Lee Designs and the TLD Team as he has not only been riding for our Canadian partner, TLD Canada, for the 2014 season, but also was a fill-in rider for Christian Craig back in 2011. We are excited to see him return to the TLD tent and race here in the US once again. With his experience racing in AMA Motocross, vast amount of talent and drive to win, we are sure to see Facciotti make some big moves in the stacked 450 class.
Cole Seely, Jessy Nelson and Shane McElrath will represent Team TLD in the 250 class at this weekend's Utah MX at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele. Be sure to tune in to MAVTV on Saturday at 12pm for the first motos, and NBC Sports Network at 3:30pm and 10pm for the second 450 and 250 motos.
