Dean Ferris to Red Bull KTM in the U.S.?
We're hearing rumors that fast Australian Dean Ferris, coming off a strong season in the MX2 class of the World Motocross GPs for the Dixon Yamaha team, will be heading to the U.S. for 2014 with Red Bull KTM. Sources say Ferris will race the 250 class here indoors and out, which would make him the teammate of Marvin Musquin in that class, with Ken Roczen moving up to the 450s. Had Ferris stayed in Europe, he would have had to move up to the MXGP (450) class due to the 23-year-old MX2 age restriction.
The news is a bit of a surprise since it had already been announced that Ferris had re-signed with the Dixon Yamaha team to race the MXGP class in 2014.
Multiple sources are indicating this KTM deal will happen, but we're not sure how Ferris will end up moving here considering it was already reported that he had signed with Dixon. So while the rumors say the KTM deal is coming, we'll hold out an official word on it until we actually see a press release from KTM, Yamaha, or both.
