RIVERSIDE, CA (February 5, 2012). A beautiful southern California day greeted the MotoSport.com TiLUBE Foremost Insurance team, a sold out crowd for the second of the two races at Anaheim Stadium, for the fifth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series.

The team of Nick Wey and fill-in rider Justin Sipes qualified 16th and 22nd, respectively under the perfect weather conditions.

Wey and Sipes were once again both in the first heat race. The teammates choose to line up at opposite ends of the start gate but somehow ended up together by the end of lap one. They again had a fierce battle between themselves and several other riders. As they exchanged a little bumping and grinding it was unsure who, if either, was going to qualify directly to the main event.  When the checkers flew, Sipes was eighth and Wey was ninth, both directly qualifying. This would be Sipes’ first ever Supercross main event.

As the pack of 20 riders charged into the first turn, Wey and Sipes were met with downed motorcycles. Both riders were able to make their way around them and other riders but lost valuable time on the leaders. By the end of lap one Wey was 14th and Sipes 17th. As the laps went by, Wey was able to gain a few spots and then lost a few. Sipes put his head down and was ready to see what he could against the big boys of the Supercross Class main event. He was able to make a few passes but then gave up most of the ground when he made a few small tip-over mistakes. Wey crossed the finish in 13th and Sipes 17th.

“Anaheim 2 went just ok,” said Wey following the race. “I’m getting more comfortable with my bike. I have been working really hard to get my pace a bit faster so I can race with the guys up front. I’m going to continue to work hard and be prepared to do well in San Diego next weekend”.

“My first Supercross Class main event, man what a feeling,” said Sipes following the race. “I gave all I had, made a few mistakes and learned a lot. I really can’t wait for San Diego next weekend”.

Next Saturday night the series travels to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, CA for the sixth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series.  Be sure to stop by the MotoSport.com/TiLUBE/Foremost Insurance Team truck to show your support and to have your picture taken with Nick Wey, Chris Blose, and Justin Sipes from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm.  See you there!
