  • Moss Set to Challenge Field at Brisbane SX
Team Rockstar Motul Suzuki champion Matt Moss will ply his impressive skills against some of the best riders in the world in the final round of the Australasian Super X Championship at Brisbane this weekend.

With the 2009 Pro Lites Championship safe courtesy of his perfect win record in the first five rounds, Moss will ride the fuel injected Suzuki RM-Z450 in the premier Super X Open class.

  • Matt Moss
This weekend’s racing will provide valuable insight for Moss, fresh from signing a new deal with Rockstar Makita Suzuki in the US which will see him ride a factory RM-Z450 in the AMA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2010.

Joining Australian-born double world champion Chad Reed in the final round will be three superstars of world supercross – Josh Grant, Davi Millsaps and PJ Larsen.

These three AMA frontrunners will jet in to compete in the highly anticipated final round of the 2009 Australasian Super X Championship, at Brisbane’s QSAC Stadium on Saturday.

It sets up a mouth watering finish to the 2009 Australasian Super X series, particularly for the super talented Moss.

The current Australian Motocross and Super X Pro Lites champion stepped up to the Open class at the last round of the Super X championship in New Zealand. After qualifying fastest, Moss recorded a fifth, third and second with only a DNF in one of the four finals denying him a podium finish.

“I can’t wait to get on the Suzuki RM-Z450 in front of the local fans,” said Moss.

“New Zealand was a good start – I learned a lot just from that one round – and I’m confident of a big finish at Brisbane.”

Moss can look forward to great support from a partisan crowd, with organisers confident of record attendance for an Australasian Super X event with more than 22,000 tickets already sold.

Organisers have promised a track 30 per cent bigger than any supercross track previously built in Australia, with more than 7,500 tonnes of dirt shaped into a highly technical track spanning more than a kilometer in length.

The hugely successful Triple Challenge race format will feature in the finals, which pits riders against each other in three, seven lap races.
