Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Pourcel Wins 2nd Washougal 250 Moto

CARLSBAD, Calif. – Christophe Pourcel (Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki) rallied back from a rare mediocre performance in the opening 250 class moto at Washougal (Wash.) MX Park, blazing to win in the second moto to keep the race for the overall 250 class championship tight.
After eight rounds on the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA MX Nationals tour, Pourcel and rival Ryan Dungey are tied atop the points standings, each racer with 337 points.
Highlighting that second moto was a 2nd place finish by Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer, giving the team a 1st/2nd moto finish. Coupled with a solid effort in the opening moto, Weimer would place 5th on the day and is currently ranked 5th in the overall 250 class standings with 215 points.
