SoBe No Fear/Samsung/Honda Racing Team to Compete on Dunlop Tires in 2007
Buffalo, NY - Dunlop Motorcycle Tires is pleased to announce the addition of the SoBe No Fear/Samsung/Honda Racing Team to the Dunlop racing family in 2007. This Honda-supported squad is the premier factory-supported satellite team in AMA Supercross/Motocross racing, with a number of championships to its credit—and quite likely with more to come with the onset of the 2007 season.
“The SoBe No Fear/Samsung/Honda Racing Team is a great addition to our racing efforts,” said Mike Buckley, vice president of the Motorcycle Division of Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America. “With Team Honda already racing on Dunlop tires, this transition is a very natural addition for all concerned, and the synergy everyone brings to the process will only yield further advantages for the racers, and accelerate the development of our tires for customers.”
The talent-laden SoBe No Fear/Samsung/Honda Racing Team is led by veteran pro racer Kevin Windham, who will once again campaign aboard Honda’s powerful CRF450R in both Supercross and Motocross. In addition, Honda veteran Travis Preston will field a CRF450R in Supercross competition on behalf of the team.
This season the team also fields a strong four-man contingent in the support Lites classes aboard Honda’s four-stroke CRF250R, the bike that captured the 2006 Supercross Lites East championship in the hands of Team Honda’s Davi Millsaps. Josh Grant headlines the group of young up-and-comers who will compete in Supercross Lites and Motocross Lites classes in ’07. Joining him is 18-year-old sensation Jake Weimer, a six-time amateur national champion, Billy Laninovich, a mainstay of the team and newcomer Ryan Sipes.
“This is a high-powered group of riders and we’re looking forward to working with them,” said Dunlop Off-Road Manager Broc Glover. “I’m certain they will be in the spotlight all year long, and Dunlop Tires is proud to be associated with this team.”
