There are a ton of moving parts in the industry at the moment. Here is a brief article to keep you caught up heading into this weekend.
Team USA MXoN News
Roger D Steps Down from Team USA
Last week, it was announced that Roger De Coster will be stepping down as the team manager for the Team USA squad at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations.
Big takeaway: De Coster is a much-respected legend, but from what we hear, this will be a positive move in terms of getting all OEMs involved in the event moving forward.
Team USA Announcement Coming Saturday
The last time Team USA was announced at Ironman Raceway it consisted of the 2019 trio of Jason Anderson, Justin Cooper, and Zach Osborne. On Saturday during opening ceremonies, the '25 Team USA roster will be announced. Who will we see on the roster when the MXoN comes to Indiana in October?

Loretta Lynn’s Hangover
Well, hopefully not that kind of hangover, but there is a lot of post-event chatter about the 44th annual Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. From the champions to the heart break for others, to the awesome battles and the memories everyone there made, it will be remembered forever.
Big takeaway: Champions were crowned. Memories were made. History was made. The future of the sport is damn fast!
Monster Energy Becomes First Title Sponsor of the SuperMotocross World Championship
Announced last week, the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) will now have Monster Energy as its title sponsor through the 2030 season. The energy drink has been the title sponsor for supercross since 2007 and now the cooperation between Feld Motor Sports (supercross) and MX Sports Pro Racing (Pro Motocross) has managed to create an opportunity for Monster Energy to step in as title sponsor for the 31-round series as a whole.
Big takeaway: You will continue to see a lot of Monster Energy logos in SX/MX/SMX over the next five years, which is great for the paddock.
Deegan Signs Multi-Year Deal with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing
Yamaha announced today (Thursday) the second generation rider’s plan is to race 250SX in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, then move to the 450 Class full-time for the AMA Pro Motocross Championship and the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs.

Pre-Race Notes for Ironman National Weekend
Track Changes
There have been several changes to Ironman Raceway in the past two years. Ahead of the 2024 national, the starting gate location was moved and made it so the first turn was a 180-degree left turn, not a right, 90-degree first turn. There was also a new woods section added. Both will be used again this weekend. New to this year is the "Godzilla" jump, now just a hill with a turn at top, no longer having a jump up and a jump down. Plus, the section after Duck's Truss is different leading into the finish line section.
Big takeaway: Track changes have been made to accommodate the upcoming MXoN event in October.
WMX is Back
After three rounds in the first three rounds of Pro Motocross, the WMX field is back in action for their fourth round. These women are fast and the racing has been great. Now we are getting into crunch time with these final three rounds in three consecutive weeks. Read Sarah Whitmore's WMX refresher for more.
Big takeaway: WMX has one moto Friday and their second moto Saturday (AKA on the Peacock broadcast).

On Wednesday morning, Triumph Racing announced Stilez Robertson’s retirement from full-time racing after an ongoing wrist injury the last few years. Robertson landed a few podiums in his professional racing career, but injuries sidelined him for a good bit of his career, and also took a toll on his body.
