Moto 1: Schoolboy 1 (12-17) B/C

The promising talent of Schoolboy 1 took to the track for the first time and opened Moto 1 with EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kannon Hargrove out front. However, the Texan crashed out of the lead and dropped deep in the field. That handed the lead to Tom Zont Racing Yamaha’s Chase Moynihan, followed closely by KTM Orange Brigade rider Braxtyn Mes. The two established separation from the rest of the field as Mes kept Moynihan within striking distance through the middle of the moto. With just a few laps remaining, Mes made his move and took over the lead. Moynihan stayed close for a lap but started to lose ground to Motosport Hillsboro Husqvarna’s Tristan Prueitt late.
Mes brought home the moto win by 2.3 seconds over Prueitt, who made a last lap pass on Moynihan to grab the runner-up spot. Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kane Bollasina finished in fourth, with South of the Border MX KTM’s Kevyn de Pinho in fifth.

Moto 1: Women

Thanks to her impressive start to the Women’s Motocross Championship, all eyes on the Women’s division centered on Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Lachlan “La La” Turner. The reigning WMX Champion and Girls division titleholder has yet to win the Women’s class, but she got her quest for the championship off to an impressive start on Wednesday.

Although she missed out on the holeshot, which was claimed by KTM rider Jaelyn Wishon, Turner made quick work to put herself at the head of the pack. Once she had a clear track, she checked out on the field, establishing a five second lead by the completion of the opening lap. That lead grew by multiple seconds with each passing lap and eventually surpassed a half minute by the halfway point of the moto. As Turner led, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Kyleigh Stallings worked her way up to second, ahead of Riding on the Edge Yamaha’s Jordan Jarvis. The pair went bar to bar throughout the second half of the moto, often separated by less than a second.

Turner was simply dominant en route to the Moto 1 victory, finishing with a margin of 30.6 seconds over Stallings, who successfully fended off Jarvis. Sun Powersports KTM’s Mayla Herrick was fourth, with Lynx Racing Yamaha’s Mila Baltyk in fifth.

Moto 1: Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C

After a bittersweet runner-up finish in 250 B on Tuesday in which he led most of the moto, KTM Orange Brigade rider Deacon Denno was in search of unfinished business in Schoolboy 2. As the field launched out the gate it was Denno who led them into the first turn, only to narrowly get edged out for the holeshot by fellow KTM rider Carson Fields. Denno’s momentum pushed him to the lead and gave him a cushion of several bike lengths. Behind him, GASGAS rider William Canaguier took control of second, while Fields settled into third.

Denno’s pace was unmatched, and he eventually built a double-digit lead as the moto entered its second half. Canaguier, meanwhile, found himself several seconds ahead of the remainder of the field. The battle for third saw several riders take their turn in podium position.

It was as close of a wire-to-wire finish as Denno could ask for, bouncing back for an emphatic victory 11.8 seconds ahead of Canaguier. The hotly contested battle for third went to Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Vincent Wey, who battled his way through the field after a 13th-place start. EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Chace Lawton was fourth, followed by Hunter Racing GASGAS’ Trinnytie Batchelor in fifth.

Moto 1: Open Pro Sport

The most unique division at the Ranch took to the track for the first time on Wednesday, where the range of age and experience can be significant, which makes for some of the most interesting battles of the week. As the field exited the first turn to open Moto 1, it was Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Enzo Temmerman who grabbed the holeshot, only for Munn Racing Husqvarna’s Diesel Thomas to move into the lead. Temmerman pushed hard to seize control of the moto and successfully made the pass before the completion of the opening lap.

As Temmerman’s hold on the lead became firmer as the moto wore on, Thomas was left to deal with a slew of challengers for second. The Nebraska native withstood several bouts of pressure but gave way in the closing stages to Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Landen Gordon. 

Back out front, Temmerman enjoyed a much less stressful outing than his 250 Pro Sport victory and remained undefeated with the Open win. He took the checkered flag 8.4 seconds ahead of Gordon for another Team Green 1-2, while Thomas held on for third. Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kade Johnson was fourth, followed by Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Landon Gibson in fifth.

Moto 1: Supermini 2 (13-16)

The final opening moto of the day was worth the wait as Supermini 2 turned into a closely contested battle for the win amongst the lead trio of racers. The moto got underway with KTM Orange Brigade rider Nolan Ford storming to the holeshot, only to be passed by JM Racing GASGAS’ Darren Pine and another GASGAS piloted by Colt Martin. Soon enough, Twisted Development GASGAS’ Dane Pappas had managed to work his way into the lead to complete the opening lap.

The running order settled in with Pappas, Ford, Martin and Pine engaged in a four-rider pursuit. All four racers were separated by just over three seconds until Pine encountered misfortune halfway through the moto and lost multiple positions. Out front, Pappas retained the lead while Martin and Ford swapped second and third, respectively. Pappas remained in full control until the final turn of the final lap when he tipped over and allowed Martin to slip past.

Martin took his second moto win of the week, 3.2 seconds ahead of Pappas, followed by Ford in third. KTM rider Noxx Lewin finished in fourth, with GASGAS rider Chase Dashiell in fifth.

Moto 2: 85cc (10-12)

After an impressive ride to victory on Tuesday, Twisted Development KTM’s Sawyer Gieck looked to keep the momentum rolling in Moto 2 of 85cc (10-12). As the race got underway, Gieck had his work cut out for him but ultimately settled inside the top three behind early leader and Husqvarna rider Landon Lee, who also claimed the holeshot, and Edgewater Home Builders KTM of Whalyn Ballenger. 

The top three were separated by mere seconds as Gieck looked to take advantage of the moment and attack early. He made the pass for second around Ballenger and then laid down the fastest lap of the moto to make the move around Lee for the race lead. Lee kept Gieck honest for several laps and remained well within striking distance, but Gieck responded in the late stages of the moto to stretch the lead.

Gieck secured back-to-back moto wins by 6.9 seconds over Lee, followed by Ballenger in third. MotoBros KTM’s Austin Keller finished fourth, followed by Adventure Moto KTM’s Chance Ulberg.

Moto 3 for 85cc (10-12) is scheduled for Friday.

Moto 2: 250 Pro Sport

With two wins in his first two motos of the week, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Enzo Temmerman was brimming with confidence when he lined up for the second moto of 250 Pro Sport. As the field came to life out the gate it was the Team Green duo or Temmerman and Landen Gordon leading the way, with Gordon able to secure the holeshot. However, both riders were passed by Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kade Johnson.

Johnson was able to settle in out front for several laps, but the pressure mounted from a determined Temmerman, which pushed Gordon’s pace and allowed the Kawasaki rider to make the pass for the lead. Temmerman followed his teammate around Johnson into second and from there the Kawasaki rider dropped the hammer. Temmerman made the move from third to first in a single lap as he stormed past Gordon and set the fastest lap of the moto. From that point on, Temmerman never looked back.

The California moved to 3-0 on the week and has back-to-back 250 Pro Sports wins entering the third and deciding moto. He crossed the finish line 7.4 seconds ahead of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Landon Gibson, who once again showed his resiliency in a runner-up result that saw him start fifth. Johnson parlayed his strong start into a third-place finish, while Gordon lost ground late and dropped off the podium in fourth. EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Landon Hartz rounded out the top five.

Moto 3 for 250 Pro Sport is scheduled for Friday.

Moto 2: Mini Sr. 2 (13-15)

With back-to-back moto wins on Tuesday in Mini Sr. 1 and Mini Sr. 2, all eyes were on Husqvarna rider Maddox Temmerman. As the gate dropped to begin Moto 2 of Mini Sr. 2 it was the Gresham Powersports Husqvarna of Jaxson Lang to grabbed the holeshot, but his time out front was short lived as Temmerman charged into the lead.

While Temmerman was comfortable pacing the field, he wasn’t able to sprint away as Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Tayce Morgan kept the deficit within a couple seconds. Just past the halfway point everything changed as Temmerman tucked his front end in the sand and went down, which allowed Morgan to take over the lead with just a few laps to go. Eager to try and correct his miscue, Temmerman went on a torrid push that saw him post the fastest lap of the moto in the waning moments and close in on Morgan’s rear fender on the final lap.

Temmerman hounded Morgan on the final circuit, but the Yamaha rider didn’t put a wheel wrong and brought home the victory to end the early week dominance by the Temmerman brothers. The margin of victory was a mere eight tenths of a second, while GASGAS rider Alex Campigli finished third. Triangle Cycles BLU CRU Yamaha’s Cooper Johnson was fourth, with JK Powersports KTM’s Jackson Vick in fifth.

Moto 3 for Mini Sr. 2 is scheduled for Friday.
