Chris Blose, Gas Monkey Energy/AJE Motorsports Ink 2021 SX Deal
After a year racing with the FXR/Chaparral Honda Racing team, veteran Chris Blose will return to the Gas Monkey Energy/AJE Motorsports team for the 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. Blose rode for the Gas Monkey Energy/AJE Motorsports team during the 2019 250SX West Region of Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Blose then raced in the Australian Supercross Championship in the fall of 2019, where he won the SX2 (250SX Class) title aboard a Penrite Honda.
The Arizona native made the switch to Michael Lindsay’s new the FXR/Chaparral Honda Racing team and began the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross off racing in the 450SX Class in preparation for the 250SX East Region opener in February. Unfortunately, Blose suffered a big crash while racing in the 450SX Class at the Glendale Supercross Triple Crown when he slammed hard in the whoop section. In the crash, Blose sustained a concussion, fractured right hip, broken right radius, dislocated wrist, four broken left ribs, and a lacerated liver. He underwent surgery and was sidelined for several months. He told us in early May he had underwent physical therapy and even a diet change in order to heal up so he could return to racing—which he was able to do so at the first race in Salt Lake City, Utah, when supercross resumed on May 31.
Blose finished 26th in the 450SX standings (four races) and 13th in the 250SX East Region standings (five races). He recorded a season-best seventh in the Salt Lake City 3 Supercross 250SX East Region main event.
Although not much was mentioned about his plans for 2021, Blose did post this picture yesterday of a Husqvarna with a relatable quote:
Then, late last night, the team posted a photo of Blose with the following caption:
“We are happy to announce that Chris Blose will be making his return to AJE Motorsports for the 2021 Supercross season. Chris brings experience and incredible talent and we are excited to have him back.”
