Rockwell Racing Yamaha announced today that Gared “Stank Dog” Steinke will race the final two rounds of the 250SX West Region with the team, starting this weekend in Denver. The team was down to just one rider—Bradley Lionnett—after Mitchell Harrison left the team to race the FIM Motocross World Championship with Bud Racing Kawasaki.
The team will also debut a unique co-branding promotion with iconic rock band Slayer in Denver. The team is sponsored by Nuclear Blast Records, which Slayer is a part of. Steinke will wear custom Leatt gear this weekend.
“The timing of his addition couldn’t be better,” said Ryan Clark. “We have been planning a really unique co-branding promotion with the band Slayer, and Gared Steinke was a natural fit with his fun-loving attitude, rock star attitude and wide-open riding style. Team partners Leatt and Nuclear Blast Records have gone above and beyond, and we couldn’t be more excited to hit the track in the Mile High city.”
Steinke, who has spent the past few years racing Amsoil Arenacross, has been out all season due to injuries sustained at Red Bull Straight Rhythm.
Also, it is worth noting, that the team sent out this amazing photo of Stank for the upcoming race in Denver:
