Penrite Honda Racing announced today that they have drafted Cameron McAdoo to replace the injured Bradley Taft for this weekend’s AUS-X Open in Sydney. McAdoo will race the SX2 class at the final round of the 2018 Australian Supercross Championship.
McAdoo has spent the last two seasons with GEICO Honda but was not re-signed by the team for 2019. McAdoo will have some familiarity on the team, as fellow Iowa native Justin Brayton rides for the team in SX1. Both riders also train at ClubMX.
“I have been riding and training with Justin [Brayton] at Club MX for the past two seasons,” McAdoo said. “He is an inspiration and offers great advice and support. He always talks about Australia and I truly appreciate the opportunity Penrite Honda has given me to come out and compete.
“I was happy with several motocross finishes and I hope to carry that momentum into Sydney. The bike here is competitive and I have watched the success they have had with many riders in the SX2 class over the last few seasons.”
