  • Win Kevin Windham’s Motocross of Nations Race Bike

Encinitas, Calif. — Motocross des Nations is arguably the most prestigious racing event of the year, and 2018 is no exception. For the first time since 2010 and only the third time in the event’s 71-year history, the monumental event will once again be held on U.S. soil. The entire moto community around the world is anxiously awaiting the gate drop on the 2018 MXoN, ready to cheer on their favorite team!

One team that is garnering the most buzz, both from fans and industry insiders, is the star-studded Team Puerto Rico comprised of Travis Pastrana, Kevin Windham, and Ryan Sipes. Yes, you read that correctly, and no, you didn’t travel back in time—both Travis Pastrana and Kevin Windham are coming out of retirement for this historic event. The almost seemingly fictitious team of legends is ready to take on the world when MXoN returns to the U.S. in October!

Why would Travis Pastrana and Kevin Windham choose to return to racing after so many years away? Because for the entire team, it’s about so much more than a trophy. A year after Hurricane Maria devastated the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Island and its people are still in distress and disarray as they continue to rebuild after the catastrophic storm. Team Puerto Rico is not only racing Motocross des Nations to show up against the best in the world to try and best their tenth-place finish in 2010, but their entire racing effort is dedicated to giving back to the people of Puerto Rico and helping them continue to rebuild their storm-tattered shores.

In partnership with 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Global Disaster Outreach, Team Puerto Rico is making a difference by utilizing their racing platform to not only raise awareness to the continuing rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico, but also to fundraise in order to make the maximum positive impact possible. Global Disaster Outreach is the preferred disaster relief organization and Team Puerto Rico will be able to see exactly where the funds donated will be used and how they specifically will help with the rebuilding process.

Road 2 Recovery is proud to announce a partnership with Team Puerto Rico at Motocross des Nations to raise additional funds for Global Disaster Outreach. Beginning Monday, September 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. PDT, you will have the opportunity to win Kevin Windham’s MXoN official race bike. This once-in-a-lifetime eBay auction will last seven days, and 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to Global Disaster Outreach. This partnership will give Team Puerto Rico an even larger platform for their fundraising efforts to help rebuild the island after Hurricane Maria. We are very excited to help them raise as much as possible for an incredibly worthy cause. To start bidding, click here.

With the help of GEICO Honda, who donated the bike, fans will have the opportunity to win a piece of motocross racing history!

The 2019 Honda CRF450R is outfitted with:

• ARC Clutch Perch Assembly

• Cycra plastic

• D'Cor GEICO Honda Windham MXoN graphic kit

• D.I.D. X-Ring chain

• Dirt Star STX rims

• Factory Connection Pull Rod

• Hinson Factory Connection Racing clutch cover

• Kite Hubs

• Pro Taper EVO Windham handlebars

• Pro Taper 1/3 waffle grips

• Pro Taper Race Spec sprockets

• Twin Air air filter

• Yoshimura RS-9T FS TI-TI-CF exhaust system

Not only will the winner go home with Kevin Windham’s actual Motocross des Nations race bike, but it will be signed. The winner will also receive a new set of gear signed by the entire Team Puerto Rico. This is truly an opportunity of a lifetime, and we are so proud to partner with Team Puerto Rico to help them raise funds for an incredible cause!

Follow us to stay up to date on all upcoming announcements and how you can help Team Puerto Rico with their disaster recovery efforts and become part of motocross history! You can make a direct donation to help Team Puerto and Global Disaster Outreach reach their goal by donating here.

Team Puerto Rico is continuing to sell merchandise with all profits going directly to Global Disaster Outreach. To buy Team Puerto Rico gear, head to www.teampuertorico2018.com.

*This opportunity is open to both U.S. and international participants. Road 2 Recovery will pay transport fees in the United States. However, an international winner will be responsible for transport fees outside of the U.S.
