July 3
1983
RedBud in Buchanan, Michigan, hosted a triple-header AMA 125/250/500 National as part of the July 4 weekend celebration. Team Honda's David Bailey emerged as the winner in the 250 Class over Suzuki's Scott Burnworth and Kawasaki's Billy Liles. In the 125 Class, it was Honda's Johnny O'Mara taking the win ahead of Yamaha's Ron Lechien and Kawasaki's Jeff Ward. And the 500 Class went to Yamaha's Broc Glover over his teammate Warren Reid and Kawasaki's Kent Howerton.
All three of the class winners that day—O'Mara, Bailey, and Glover—would go on to claim their respective national championships by the end of the season.
1963
This race was actually a month earlier in Imola, Italy, but our friend Luciano Costa just sent us this link of Husqvarna's Rolf Tibblin and many others in the 1963 Italian 500cc Grand Prix that is worth checking out:

In the 250 Class, GEICO Honda’s Trey Canard captured the overall with 4-1 motos to top Pro Circuit Kawasaki teammates Dean Wilson and Christophe Pourcel.
