Two-time defending 250MX champion Jeremy Martin will miss the final three rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship due to injuries sustained at Round 9 at Washougal.
In the second 250 moto, Martin was involved in a early race pileup and after going down got run over by Monster Energy/Pro Circuit’s Adam Cianciarulo, suffering broken ribs in the incident.
Racer X reported the news on our Twitter account:
Jeremy Martin is out for Unadilla this weekend, still hurting from Washougal injuries
— Racer X (@racerxonline) August 11, 2016
Martin also posted a message on his Instagram:
This is very hurtful to inform everyone and tough to swallow, but I will not be on the gate this weekend or the last two rounds due to my injury at Washougal. It bums me out to not being able to defend my title. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend. I'm going to miss my fans cheering me on!
Since turning pro full-time in 2013, Martin has never missed a round of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross.
With Martin, currently second in 250MX, out for the weekend, Cooper Webb enters the tenth round with a 53-point lead over third-place Joey Savatgy.
