Neck Injury to Sideline Justin Bogle for Remainder of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross
Due to a neck injury sustained at the Southwick National in early July, GEICO Honda’s Justin Bogle will miss the final three rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
According to the team, Bogle was taken to a local hospital following the second moto crash as a precaution, but everything checked out fine. The Oklahoma native missed the next two rounds at Spring Creek and Washougal, but was expected to return before the end of the season. In the announcement, which he made on his Instagram page, Bogle said that the injury is not healing as expected and he will be off the bike for the next 3-4 weeks.
The injury will bring a premature end to Bogle’s rookie 450 season.
Below is the full post from Bogle:
Hey everyone, I wanted to reach out to all of you and let you know that I am unfortunately going to miss the last 3 nationals of the year. My second moto crash at Southwick did more damage to my neck than what we previously thought. I’ve been doing therapy and following my doctors advice but unfortunately I am still not able to ride. I want to be out on the track and putting that awesome Geico Honda up at the front, but for now I’m just not able to. For now the best decision to take is to let my neck heal up 100% before getting back on the bike. That time frame is 3-4 more weeks, which puts me off the bike until after the last national. I’m bummed about missing the last few rounds as they are some of my favorite tracks, but this is the best decision for my health and being 100% ready for 2017. Thanks again to all of my sponsors and fans for all of the support.
