KTM invited us out to ride their RC 390 in both the standard trim, as well as the Cup bike spec. These machines are designed as an entry level race bike for young riders looking to hone their skill, and also as a fun, race-y sport bike for somebody looking for a smaller bike.
KTM's Chris Fillmore spent the day taking us around Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, showing us what the RC390 is capable of. The former Supermoto and US road racing star is an elite-level rider who has taken a position with KTM to help bring their sport bike products to the media.
Climbing into road racing leathers was intimidating and incredibly awkward at first but after a couple sessions I was having a blast on this machine. My only question is: when can I go again?
