Already without defending champion Ryan Dungey, the 450 class will be further diminished this weekend as Honda HRC’s Trey Canard will miss Round 4 of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross from High Point.
Honda announced today that Canard crashed at his track in Oklahoma on Monday, resulting in a bulging disc in his back.
The team will evaluate his condition on a “weekly basis” to determine when he can return to action.
“It’s unfortunate that Trey will miss this weekend’s race,” said team manager Dan Betley. “He has shown a lot of speed at the first three rounds and continues to improve his starts. We’re confident that he’ll be back in action sooner than later, but at this point we’re just going to evaluate things each week.”
Canard is currently fourth in the 450MX standings.
