TORRANCE, Calif. - Honda's first two-wheel announcement of the 2017 powersports model year is headlined by the popular Grom, which gets a comprehensive redesign for a sharper, more aggressive look. In addition, Honda announces a number of returning models for 2017, including the practical PCX150 scooter and the CRF family of trail bikes.

"We're excited to refresh the Grom with an assertive new look for 2017," said Lee Edmunds, Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Communications at American Honda. "Since its 2014 introduction, this fun-loving motorcycle has been a big hit in a little package, singlehandedly establishing a thriving market for small-wheeled, small-displacement, big-personality road bikes that lend themselves to personalization. Now, the Grom's styling is even more exciting without losing any of the original's fun appeal."

Grom

Part minibike, all motorcycle, the Grom has been a resounding success from the start, with a package that's manageable yet comfortable for full-sized adults. Though its wheels are only 12 inches, the bike has full-size features like a sturdy steel frame, a 31mm inverted fork, mono-shock rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes and a 125cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine. Now the Grom gets an edgier look, thanks to an integrated fuel tank and side panels, along with a modern, stacked LED headlight layout. Add a new flip-key, sportier handlebar, under-slung exhaust, upswept tail unit and a higher passenger seat, and you've got a Grom that's as fun as ever but with a daring new look.

Colors: Matte Gray Metallic, Pearl Red, Pearl White, Bright Yellow
Price: $3,199
Availability: August 2016
More info: Grom

PCX150

Those seeking a practical, versatile scooter with a simple-to-use automatic transmission and room for a passenger need look no further than the PCX150, which is available in two new colors for 2017: Pearl White and Dark Pearl Blue. The 150cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine works great for urban commuting but is also freeway-legal for longer jaunts, while the fuel efficiency and 2.1 gallon fuel tank help make gas-station stops a rare occurrence. The package is rounded out with a bold design topped off by dual LED headlights.

Colors: Pearl White, Dark Pearl Blue
Price: $3,499
Availability: June 2016

CRF230F

Lightweight and reliable, the CRF230F is the ideal off-road motorcycle for young adults or larger teens looking to spend more time twisting the throttle and less time spinning the wrenches. Thanks to its user-friendly, air-cooled 223cc four-stroke engine, durable six-speed transmission and plush, long-travel suspension, this motorcycle can be enjoyed by a wide range of riders in a variety of off-road environments. Easy-to-use push-button start, heavy-duty clutch, front disc brake and a tough skid plate provide performance and durability on the trail. Maintenance-free CD ignition, sealed battery and cam-type chain adjusters are a few of the many features that help to keep maintenance simple and rare.

Color: Red
Price: $4,199
Availability: August 2016

CRF150F

No kick-starting necessary with Honda's durable CRF150F; just push the starter button and go! The 149cc air-cooled four-stroke engine with five-speed transmission is tame enough for beginning riders yet has plenty of power to entertain even the most seasoned vets. When the trail gets rough, the 35mm Showa fork and Pro-Link® Showa single shock provide a plush ride to help maximize control and fun. With a seat height of 32.8 inches, this midsized off-road offering is the ideal platform for stepping up from its smaller siblings.

Price: $3,699
Availability: August 2016

CRF125F/CRF125FB

Honda offers a wide range of off-road motorcycles, with varying rider sizes and skill levels in mind, the CRF125F being a perfect example. Its air-cooled 124.9cc engine has electric start and a four-speed transmission and is famous for its durability and reliability. Best of all, the bike is available in the standard version with 17- and 14-inch front and rear wheels and a 28.9-inch seat height, and the CRF125FB "Big Wheel" with 19- and 16-inch wheels and a 30.9-inch seat height.

CRF110F

A fun off-road motorcycle packed with features for the younger rider, the CRF110F features an air-cooled 110cc engine with a durable four-speed transmission and automatic clutch, and it comes with both push-button electric start and manual kick start. Like the CRF50F, it has an adjustable throttle limiter for tailoring available power depending on skill level.

CRF50F

The smallest Honda in the CRF line, the CRF50F is great for introducing the youngest riders to the world of motorcycling. The easy-to-use power delivery from the durable and low-maintenance 49cc air-cooled four-stroke engine has been putting smiles on children's faces for generations. A smooth, three-speed transmission and automatic clutch prevent stalls and allow riders to focus on fun. There's also an adjustable throttle limiter so parents can control the maximum power output without limiting the amount of enjoyment.
