
Antonio Cairoli won his second straight overall today at his home Grand Prix in Trentino, Round 8 of FIM World Motocross Championship. The Red Bull KTM rider won the first moto and finished second in moto 2 to claim the overall. He now trails points leader Tim Gajser by 25 points.
Romain Febvre passed Cairoli late in the second moto to take second overall and pull within four points of the lead. Gajser would finish third.
In MX2, Jeffrey Herlings’ streak of fourteen straight moto wins came to an end in the first moto when the Dutch sensation was beat by Dylan Ferrandis. Herlings would rebound to win the second moto, claiming his eighth straight overall to start the season. Through eight rounds, he holds a commanding 100-point lead over second place Jeremy Seewer.
Ferrandis finished third in moto 2 to claim second overall. Pauls Jonass finished third.
In the EMX250 Class, American Darian Sanayei went 3-2 to claim second overall behind Denmark’s Thomas Kjer Olsen. Through four rounds of the championship, Sanayei sits third overall, forty-five points behind Kjer Olsen.
