In the July 2016 issue of Racer X Illustrated, available digitally today, Brett Smith tells the dark and detailed history of what happened to Austin Stroupe. Smith leads off the show tonight to talk about the article and explain how he was able to earn Stroupe’s trust and tell a story that even the people closest to Austin didn’t know.
It took a lot of courage for Austin Stroupe to finally tell his story. Unfortunately, it is a familiar one that plays out across every societal boundary we have, and dominates the headlines far too often. Simply, I believe this is the most important and compelling article penned in our sport in very long time. Austin is very much looking forward with new goals in his life right now, but will join us to give his thoughts and perspective on the article dropping today.
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Tyler Bowers had a rough season after coming in following the back surgery that altered much of his 2015 as well. The results were not up to his standards and will only fuel his desire to be competing for championships again once 100% healthy. Tyler is always a great interview on the show and our listeners appreciate his honesty and candor. Just make sure to leave your "feelings" at the door.
There is hardly ever a consensus on anything in our sport. Fans thrive on making sure their differing perspective stands atop the virtual social media podium, but the masses have spoken and can all agree that FOX Sports’ Jenny Taft is doing an awesome job covering our beloved sport. We look forward to catching up with the rising star and ask her some questions for a change after the wild Vegas finale.
