Over the weekend, Belgium announced that Kevin Strijbos (MX1) will be paired with Jeremy Van Horebeek (Open) and Julian Lieber (MX2) for the 2015 Motocross of Nations in Ernee, France, in late September.
On paper, the loss of Clement Desalle (injury) appears huge, but this is the same team that placed second last year to France in Latvia. In 2013, Desalle, Van Horebeek and Ken de Dycker won the overall in Germany.
Van Horebeek has failed to follow up on a runner-up finish to Antonio Cairoli last year in MXGP, as he is currently eighth in points with just one moto podium.
A thumb injury has limited Strijbos in 2015, as he’s missed five rounds. Strijbos is currently tenth overall in MXGP with one moto win.
Lieber, currently eighth in MX2, has four moto podiums in 2015.
