  • Cobra Announces 2016 Lineup

2016 CX50JR

Eighteen straight years of U.S. National Championships cannot be denied. The heritage of the littlest Cobra is simply incredible…No other motorcycle in motocross history can even touch it. How serious do we take this bike? Consider that it has its own unique chassis and bodywork that is designed exclusively for the smallest of racers. The shape of the cockpit maximizes suspension travel (nearly 50mm more travel than its nearest competitor) while maintaining the required seat height for AMA Class 2 eligibility. Its wheels are lightweight and nearly maintenance-free. The engine is a proven, quality platform. The chassis features class-exclusive adjustable cartridge forks and piggy-back reservoir shock that can grow with your racer (and we all know that they grow fast at this age). Why would you consider anything else for your little moto warrior?

  • All-new SKF fork seal & swiper for more supple fork action
  • Improved steering head sealing keeps out dirt, mud, and even high pressure water
  • Improved clutch cover sealing
  • Black, hard anodized wheels…Tougher and better looking!

2016 CX50SR (The King)

Cobra’s flagship 1994 King 50 changed motocross forever by introducing the first true race-ready 50cc motocross bike. In the time since, the King 50 has kicked off the careers of many of the world’s top racers including Davi Millsaps, Brock Tickle, Darryn Durham, Blake Baggett, Trey Canard, and Eli Tomac not to mention up-and-comers such as Adam Cianciarulo, Cooper Web, and Thomas Covington. For 2016, the Original Cobra receives many refinements including a drastically innovative rear shock, improved fork, and several durability upgrades. Of course, class-exclusive features like a fully adjustable cartridge fork, twin-spar frame, three-way adjustable rear shock, and hard-hitting 5Gx 3-shoe auto clutch are still in place to inspire confidence and reduce lap times.

  • New rear shock with improved high/low speed compression adjuster
  • All-new SKF fork seal & swiper for more supple fork action
  • Improved steering head sealing keeps out dirt, mud, and even high pressure water
  • Improved clutch cover sealing
  • Black, hard anodized wheels…Tougher and better looking!

2016 CX65

The June 2015 issue of Motocross Action Magazine could not say enough good about the CX65. The first sentence sums it up: “We had a hard time getting our testers to lodge a single complaint against the Cobra CX65. It was as sterling package from stem to stern.” And, they finished the test off with, “The CX65 is a testament to the fact that Cobra, a small-scale brand from southern Michigan, can challenge the titans – and win.” For 2016, we’re making sure that a great package is even better. Big improvements in brakes, clutch, engine performance and suspension will ensure that Cobra’s flagship race machine maintains its spot as the 65cc class performance leader.

2016 Cobra CX65 Highlights

  • All-new stainless steel rear brake calliper piston ensures fade free operation.
  • All-new hydraulic clutch master cylinder offers easier lever action
  • New rear shock with improved high/low speed compression adjuster
  • Updated porting for more power throughout the RPM range
  • New airbox-carburetor inlet boot smoothes inlet flow and makes jetting changes easier.
  • Redesigned shift cassette for smoother shifting and easier neutral identification
  • Lighter weight and more compact kick start shaft slims the bike and saves weight
  • Redesigned clutch hub allows for a longer lasting clutch
