Yesterday, in the second moto at the High Point National, RJ Hampshire and Shane McElrath collided after both attempted to scrub a steep uphill. Hampshire got the worse of the incident, kicking to the right off the track before crashing to the ground.
Hampshire was unable to finish the moto, but in a team statement released last night, he said he is okay and will be ready for next weekend.
"I came to a high-speed section near the finish, and I came together with (Shane) McElrath in the air. I hit pretty hard, and I'm banged up, but nothing too bad. We'll get ready for Budds Creek."
McElrath went on to finish tenth in the moto and tenth overall on the day.
