Reports are coming out of Maggiora, Italy, that Antonio Cairoli crashed in the qualifying race today and left the track holding his wrist. Exact details on his condition have yet to be confirmed. Cairoli entered the weekend nineteen points back of MXGP points leader Max Nagl.
In other news, Clement Desalle has pulled out of the race due to a left knee injury. Adam Wheeler, of On Track Off Road, who first reported the news, says that Desalle will miss the next round at Teutschenthal as well.
In qualifying today, Nagl took the win ahead of Jeremy Van Horebeek and Shaun Simpson. In MX2, Jeffrey Herlings captured the win in front of Valentin Guillod and Jordi Tixier.
