Despite a huge crash in the second moto at a rain soaked MXGP of Italy, Romain Febvre found a way to survive and claim the overall. The rookie sensation held on to the overall by three points over Kevin Strijbos, winner of the second moto, and Australian Todd Waters.
Antonio Cairoli, who had a huge crash yesterday in qualifying in which he sustained a wrist injury, managed to lineup today for his home GP. He garnered just seventeen points on the day and lost more ground to MXGP points leader Max Nagl.
Despite winning the second moto, Jeffrey Herlings lost out on the MX2 overall today to Tim Gajser. Gajser, who did not win a moto, finished second behind Herlings in the second moto to secure the win. Jeremy Seewer rounded out the podium.
