Defending MX2 World Champion Jordi Tixier has been handed a €5,000 fine and a month suspension for his actions following the first MX2 moto at the Grand Prix of Thailand. After the first moto, Tixier, who had to receive medical treatment for heat stroke and dehydration, was declared unfit for the second moto by the chief medical officer and the FIM medical director. Tixier reportedly then attacked the chief medical officer and FIM medical director.
According to a Youthstream press release today, the race direction called for a hearing in which Tixier admitted to the attack. No appeal has been made with the FIM Stewards, according to the release.
Tixier, currently twelfth in MX2 standings, has not released a statement.
