Carmichael, McElrath, Jordon Smith on DMXS Radio
Ricky Carmichael epitomizes what a champion means and continues to give back while helping grow the sport he loves at every level. We’re not sure how he juggles everything from his championship contending factory-supported team to his duties in the TV booth, but we’ll get an update on all of that tonight. The 6th Annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross is almost sold-out already, but you can get all the latest info at www.racedaytona.com. We always look forward to catching up with the GOAT!
Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/ KTM’s Shane McElrath scored his second heat-race win and first supercross podium at San Diego, and will carry some serious mojo into the long break. Shane didn’t have the normal celebrated path through the amateurs, but the polite and fast kid from North Carolina has certainly made the most of every opportunity he’s been given. You won’t find a more appreciative rider in the pits and we’re stoked for our southern brother.
GEICO Honda’s Jordon Smith recently completed the Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross and was scheduled to race the 250SX East opener in Dallas this weekend before breaking his hand while training. We’re all bummed since the injury required surgery and put his much anticipated debut into jeopardy. We’ll get the latest from Jordan himself tonight.
DMXS Radio will continue its proud tradition of welcoming in the racing community when the gang comes to Atlanta every February for supercross. We’re pulling double duty and will dropping the gate on Friday, February 20, and Saturday the 28th at www.Cosmolava.comwhich is conveniently located in midtown. The first round of drinks will be on Jason Weigandt! Who are we kidding? That would never happen under any circumstances since he doesn’t even buy his own drinks. Hope to see y’all there!
DMXS Radio thanks our wives, Troy Lee Designs, Moto Dynasty, SCOTT, Shades of Gray, Racer X, MX Sports, DUBYA Wheels, GoPro, OGIO, Concept2 Rowers, Coach Robb Beams, vurbmoto, Skull Candy, and Stellar MX Graphics for their continued support! THANK YOU….WE COULDN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
