So far this season we've seen three first-time 250SX Supercoss winners in just four races. Malcolm Stewart is the latest to enjoy that top spot on the box with his win in Oakland Saturday night. His immediate future in racing was unclear in late fall of 2014 as he hadn't signed with any teams yet. He thanked GEICO Honda for the opportunity with his win last week. Now he sits 6th in points, just one point out of the top five.
Kyle Regal's making the new Husqvarna FC250 look good in Arenacross by getting main event wins and he scored his first overall win of the season Saturday night in Colorado Springs. AMSOIL Arenacross is more popular than ever with the Ricky Carmichael's Road to Supercross program and the reworked format during race day. Last weekend they had a sold out crowd in Colorado Springs. The series now heads to Nashville, TN.
Todd Krieg had a big crash while preparing for the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross season that resulted in partially collapsed lung, broken ribs, two broken collarbones, bleeding behind the eye and damage to the T4 vertebra. The T4 injury has left him paralyzed from his chest down. Despite his situation Todd is in great spirits and faces each day with positive thoughts. A fundraiser page has been set up for his recovery and extensive medical bills.
Roger Hayden wrapped up the 2014 AMA Pro SuperBike season in 2nd overall. His season included eight podiums and one win. In 2013 he finished 4th overall in the SuperBike class. He is preparing to race in the MotoAmerica Series with the Yoshimura Team.
The reigning WORC's champion won his first National Hare and Hound race at the Desert MC's 48th Annual Winter Classic. Despite a wreck, Gary Sutherlin managed a win after an awesome battle with defending H & H Champion Ricky Brabec. Sutherlin also races Endurocross and was a mechanic for Ricky Dietrich.
Gary "Airtime" Cooper is a motocross legend that's many fans' favorite to this day, and for good reason. He turned pro in 1980 and won the 1990 125 AMA Outdoor Championship. He was also the 1993 World Supercross Champion and was a 1994 and 1996 ISDE Gold Medalist. Beyond his racing accomplishments Cooper was known for his insane jumps and legendary "whip" before it was commonplace with motocross racers. Now he has a new role as team manager and his riders include Brett Cue, Colt Nichols, Frederik Noren, and Tommy Hahn.
