Lucas Oil/Troy Lee Designs KTM’s Jessy Nelson backed up his dominating opening round win with a solid podium at Phoenix that allows him to retain the coveted red plate heading back to Anaheim. The added pressure doesn’t seem to bother Jessy and it really well goes with their color-scheme. It’s a deep field, but I believe you’ll have to wrestle that plate away from here on out.
It’s always exciting to see a rider get their first win, and Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb checked that off his to-do list at round two. We’re glad to see the North Carolina native representing the east coast so well, too. We wanted to give him proper congratulations tonight always enjoy catching up with Mini Coop!
GEICO Honda’s Malcolm Stewart didn’t even have a ride secured for SX the last time we interviewed him after the Red Bull Straight Rhythm in October. It seems his impressive showing there helped open up some possibilities, and he’s certainly making the most of the opportunity with a second place showing last Saturday. He has one of the biggest smiles and personalities in the pits and always delivers a great interview.
