AURORA, Ill. - Riders across the country have put in countless hours of training for what is destined to be the most unpredictable and exciting season of AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael's Road to Supercross, ever. While the AMSOIL Arenacross championship hopefuls gear up for the January 10th showdown in Cincinnati, top prospects from the 2014 class of Ricky Carmichael's Road to Supercross are also preparing for the next step of their careers, a rookie season in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship.
Never has a Road to Supercross competitor been as successful as Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Aaron Plessinger. The Ohio native made his professional debut in Baltimore last January where he made history by earning not only the first Arenacross Class Main Event win of his career but also the overall win for the night. After his incredible debut weekend, it is no secret that the 18 year old has solidified himself as a top prospect in the world of Monster Energy Supercross.
"It was definitely a big learning experience coming from amateurs [and] going into AMSOIL Arenacross, seeing what those guys do and how they race in front of all those people," said Plessinger. "Getting to do that and going into supercross is important because you don't really get to race in front of that many people [in amateurs].".
The success and experience Plessinger gained on his Road to Supercross journey will soon be tested as he lines up against the world's most prestigious and elite Supercross competitors in Anaheim this upcoming weekend.
