Hollywood, CA – Red Bull Media House in association with Freeride Entertainment premiered a new motorcycle documentary “On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter” at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood tonight. Over 400 motorcycle riders from Southern California cruised in and parked their bikes along Hollywood Blvd to celebrate Director Dana Brown’s follow-up to the 1971 Academy Award®-nominated documentary, “On Any Sunday”, directed by his father, Bruce Brown, who also attended the premiere.
Over 2,000 fans watched the movie and welcomed dozens of celebrities who arrived to the Dolby Theatre on their motorcycles including 2014 “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant Lorenzo Lamas, Duff Goldman from “Ace of Cakes” and Phil Koeghan, host of “The Amazing Race.” Stars from the film also came out to see the movie for their first time including action sports superstar Travis Pastrana, freestyle motocross pioneer Robbie Maddison, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb motorcycle champ Carlin Dunne, motocross legend Doug Henry, and custom motorcycle designer and former racer Roland Sands.
Maddison built a custom motorcycle with a wheelchair ramp for his close friend, Chris Ackerman, to ride in with him to the premiere. Eleven years ago Ackerman had an accident that nearly took his life. He sustained numerous broken bones and a spinal cord injury that left him permanently paralyzed. Tonight marked the first time Ackerman had been on a motorcycle since his accident.
“Being able to get Chris back on a motorcycle and enjoy the freedom that riding bikes brings has been something weighing on my shoulders for some time,” commented film star and freestyle motocross pioneer Robbie Maddison. “Chris is family to me and I love him like a brother, and to have him be a part of the motorcycle convoy and ride into the premiere of ‘On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter’ is something he will never forget.”
“On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter” shows that the passion for riding motorcycles is as strong as ever. Dana Brown directs this modern take on the original, capturing what it means to ride in the United States and abroad. The film is an exploration into the pursuit of excitement, passion and life in the world of motorcycle riding.
“On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter” will release nationally throughout the major theatrical chains including Regal Entertainment, AMC Theatres, Cinemark and Carmike Cinemas on November 7th.
