Dean Ferris Returning to GPs in 2015
Dean Ferris is returning to the FIM World Motocross Championship full-time in 2015 following an unsuccessful attempt in the U.S. Ferris signed with Red Bull KTM for 2014 following a breakout performance at the 2013 Motocross of Nations and had three top tens in the 250SX West Region in six races before suffering a wrist injury. The Australian never raced Lucas Oil Pro Motocross and instead returned to the GPs with Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna Factory Racing at Round 12 in Sweden. He raced the next five rounds before suffering a broken femur at the MXGP of Brazil.
Ferris has come to terms with Wilvo Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing for 2015. He will join Aleksandr Tonkov, who will ride MX2.
"We are working for good results like this year and together with Aleksandr Tonkov and Dean Ferris this is possible," Jacky Martens, Wilvo Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing team manger, said in a press release. "Dean was really interested to ride for our team so we discussed the situation with Husqvarna and soon after we were able to give him a ride for next year. In our structure he can fight for podium positions and this is also the goal we have with Dean for next year. We keep an option open to sign another top rider for the MX2 class for 2015.’’
