Wellston, OK - Plans are now underway for the Inaugural Warrior Nationals to be held at Reynard Raceway on August 30 – 31, 2014. This ride day and race day event will be supported by professional motocross riders Trey Canard, Justin Bogle, Jimmy Albertson and Colt Nichols and is presented by Warriors for Freedom Foundation and Reynard Raceway.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Oklahoma City-based Warriors for Freedom Foundation. A non-profit, tax-exempt organization that provides support to our nation’s heroes and their families in the areas of outdoor activities, scholarships and mental health and wellness to include promoting awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
“As retired Army and former amateur motocross rider, we hope to bring military, motocross and patriotism together to raise awareness to help those who have fought for our freedoms,” says Josh Massey, past Warriors for Freedom recipient and committee member of the Warrior Nationals. “With Professional Motocross riders Trey Canard, Justin Bogle and Jimmy Albertson in our court, we think this event will provide a fun atmosphere for both riders, racers and fans alike,” says Massey.
“Reynard Raceway is happy to host this incredible event for both the casual rider as well as those who want to race,” says Ashley Phillips of Reynard Raceway. “We have hosted a patriotic ride day for Warriors for Freedom for three years now, however, we wanted to enhance it by adding a race to Sunday,” says Phillips.
“Warriors for Freedom’s MX program’s success is directly related to Reynard Raceway’s dedication to our military heroes by hosting this event. We have been able to provide deserving veterans with everything from tickets to races, gear and even a couple of dirt bikes for those wanting to compete.” says Amber Moulder, Executive Director, Warriors for Freedom. “Veterans that ride say that the excitement, competition, and kinship make this sport therapeutic to their recovery,” adds Moulder.
The Warrior Nationals is a two-day event beginning on Saturday August 30th and will be open for all ages of riders beginning at 10am as well as will offer auction items and autographed memorabilia. Sunday’s race registrations begin at 6:00am with multiple classes available.
