TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH — Miller Motorsports Park will sponsor local motocross racer Landen Powell, of South Jordan, Utah, in four rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship during the 2014 season.
Powell, 22, has been racing motocross since age 4 and has been racing professionally for the past five years. In the recently completed 2014 Monster Energy Supercross championship, Powell had a career-best season, making five main events with a best finish of 11th place and qualifying for the prestigious East/West Shootout in Las Vegas.
Miller Motorsports Park will sponsor Powell’s No. 854 KTM 250 SX-F in the 250cc class for this weekend’s season-opening round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Glen Helen Raceway near San Bernardino, Calif. The sponsorship agreement also includes Round 2 at the Hangtown Motocross Classic near Sacramento, Calif., on May 31, Round 3 at Thunder Valley Motocross Park near Lakewood, Colo., on June 7 and the season finale, the Utah National at Miller Motorsports Park on August 23.
“We are very happy to be able to support Landen Powell as he climbs the ranks of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship,” said John Larson, General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park. “He is a great representative for us, and we look forward to cheering him on in the season’s first three rounds as well as the Utah National here at Miller Motorsports Park.”
“I am very excited to team up with Miller Motorsports Park to make a run at the first three Nationals as well as the season-ending Utah National,” said Powell. “After my best-ever Supercross season, I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum into Glen Helen.”
The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship’s events are broadcast on the NBC Sports Network and MAV TV, and live streaming is available at www.ProMotocross.com and via the NBC Sports app, which is available for both iPhone and Android platforms, available at Google Play and the App Store, respectively.
