Practice has wrapped up from Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, NV, for the third annual Monster Energy Cup. Ryan Villopoto showed no effects from off-season surgery, setting the fastest lap of the day with a 1:08.041. James Stewart, making his Monster Energy Cup debut, was second with a 1:08.155.
Ken Roczen, who’s jumped up to the 450 for this race, was third best with a 1:08.186, followed by defending champion Justin Barcia (1:08.488) and Eli Tomac (1:08.619).
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson is returning following shoulder surgery that sidelined him all but two rounds of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross and set the seventh fastest time of the day. Wilson is riding the 450 today but will return to the 250 for Monster Energy Supercross.
The Monster Energy Cup airs LIVE on FOX Sports 2 tonight at 9:00 pm ET and tomorrow FOX Sports 1 will re-air the race at 1:00 pm ET.
