Carlsbad, Calif. (January 10, 2013) — Team Rockwell/FirePoliceMX riders Killy Rusk and Nick Paluzzi looked to spark their 2013 supercross campaign with spots on the line in the 250SX main event, but they both fell into some bad luck Saturday night at Angel Stadium.

In the first timed A practice, Rusk went down hard after one of the triples and tweaked his ankle. The practice was red flagged, and he was carted off by the Asterisk Medical unit. His (#66) Honda machine was okay, and Killy toughed it out in the second practice to make the night show qualifying 26th. In his heat, he battled in about 10th position for most of the race before finishing 11th. A poor start in the LCQ kept him out of the main, as Travis Baker and Christian Craig both sailed to secure the final transfer positions. The team is impressed with Killy’s effort and is looking forward to Phoenix this weekend.

Rusk nearly qualified for the main finishing 11th in his heat.

Paluzzi rode in the first timed B practice and experienced a blown motor on his (#838) Yamaha. With no replacement on hand, he was forced to sit out second practice and the night show. The team is confident that Nick can bounce back in Phoenix with a solid performance.

Paluzzi had bike problems that kept him out of the night show at Anaheim.

Trevor Ivey sat out the first round recovering from a wrist injury but is expected to make his rookie supercross debut aboard his (#400) 2013 Honda CRF250R this weekend, Saturday Jan. 12, as the series travels to Chase Field in Phoenix. Stop by the Rockwell/FirePoliceMX tent from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m. to show your support for the team and meet the riders.
