Ankle Savers/Moto Star AX Recap
Brice Klippel started the series off strong this past weekend! On Friday night Klippel qualified 17th fastest in the first practice, but decided not to race due to an injured hand. However, on Saturday night Klippel pushed through the pain to compete in his first ever professional National Arenacross event. In fact, Brice had only raced one pro race prior to Friday. After qualifying 13th fastest in practice, he went on to secure a spot in the Lites main event by finishing 3rd in his heat race. When the gate dropped for the main event Klippel found himself with a mediocre start. He fought hard and worked his way into the top ten, eventually finishing 7th. This is a great showing by a very young rider in his first ever AMA National Arenacross event. Look for Klippel to improve as the series presses on.
Other notable finishes by Ankle Savers / Moto Star Team were an 11th place finish by Davey Sterritt #289 on Friday night in the Lites Main event and a 13th by his teammate Brien DeVillo #147 in the Lites Main Event on Saturday night. This is a great start to the season for the Dirt Bike Mike race team. Look for these riders in the remainder of the AMA Amsoil Arenacross Series.
